Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before enrolling in our online English programs. By purchasing a lesson package, subscribing, or participating in our lessons, you (the “Student”, or “Parent/Guardian” if the student is a minor) agree to comply with and be bound by the following policies.

1. General Services & Lesson Structure

  • Platform: All lessons are delivered online via Zoom. Upon enrollment, each student is provided with a single, unique Zoom link. This link remains the same for all lessons and will never change.

  • Trial Lessons: All prospective students are entitled to one free trial lesson, which has a strict duration of 25 minutes. There is no financial obligation or further commitment required to take this trial lesson.

  • Regular Lessons: Following the trial, regular course lessons can be booked for durations of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on the package or plan selected.

  • Homework: Homework assignments are optional. Teachers will happily assign and grade homework if explicitly requested by the Student or Parent/Guardian.

2. Punctuality & Waiting Policy

  • Late Arrival & Outreach: If a student is late for a scheduled lesson, the teacher will attempt to reach out to the student or parent via WhatsApp after 5 minutes.

  • Technical Issues Grace Period: If the Student or Parent/Guardian experiences technical difficulties but successfully reaches out to the teacher to communicate the issue, the teacher will remain in the Zoom classroom until the very end of the scheduled lesson time, keeping the room open in hopes that the technical problems can be resolved.

  • No-Show Policy: If a student is late and there is absolutely no reply or appearance after 20 minutes, the teacher will leave the online classroom. In this specific event, the lesson will be declared a “no-show” and charged in full.

  • Lesson Time: In all cases of late arrivals or technical delays, the lesson will still conclude at its originally scheduled end time to avoid disrupting subsequent classes.

3. Package Flexibility & Break Policy

  • No Expiration: Purchased lesson packages do not expire. Students are welcome to take a break from their studies and return at any time to complete their remaining balance.

  • Teacher Availability: While your package remains valid indefinitely, Buzz Academy does not guarantee that you will retain the same teacher if a study break lasts longer than one month.

4. Faculty, Support & Non-Circumvention

  • Teacher Assignment: To ensure consistency, students are assigned a dedicated teacher and will usually stay with the same teacher throughout their studies.

  • Teacher Changes & Pedagogical Support: Students or parents reserve the right to request a change of teacher at any time, or request a meeting with a member of our pedagogical team to discuss academic progress.

  • Direct Dealing Ban: Students and Parents/Guardians strictly agree not to solicit or enter into private financial or educational arrangements directly with any teacher introduced by Buzz Academy. All bookings and payments must go exclusively through the School.

5. Payment Terms & Subscriptions

  • Advance Payment Policy: Standard policy requires all lessons to be paid for in advance. Lessons that have not been paid for prior to their scheduled time will not be delivered.

  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely via Stripe Transfer. Students and parents can choose from a variety of flexible payment options displayed during checkout.

  • Subscription Options: For added convenience, students or guardians can opt for a monthly subscription payment plan. For detailed information regarding recurring billing, please contact our finance team at contact@mybuzzacademy.com.

6. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • Standard Notice: You must provide at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a scheduled lesson.

  • The Grace Period: Each student is allowed one forgiven lesson in total. If a lesson is missed or canceled late for the very first time, the lesson credit is not lost and will not be charged.

  • Late Cancellations: Aside from the one-time grace period, any cancellation with less than 12 hours’ notice will be charged in full against your package balance.

  • Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher cancels a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, the lesson will be rescheduled or credited toward the next payment period.

7. Lesson Recording Policy

  • Standard Procedure: For quality control, educational review, and safety purposes, lessons from the current month are automatically recorded. These recordings are kept private and are not watched by administration unless an operational or safety issue arises.

  • Retention: Video recordings are stored securely for one month, after which they are permanently deleted.

  • Access & Opt-Out: Upon request, direct links to active recordings can be provided. Recording is completely optional; lessons will not be recorded if the Student or Parent/Guardian explicitly requests to disable the feature.

8. Technical & Learning Environment Requirements

  • Hardware: For an optimal learning experience, students should access their lessons using a laptop or desktop computer rather than a mobile phone or tablet. Students are highly encouraged to use a headset.

  • Environment: Students are expected to be seated at a desk and will ideally be in a quiet environment free from background noise and distractions for the duration of the lesson.

  • Liability: The user is entirely responsible for their internet connection and fully functional hardware (microphone/camera). Buzz Academy is not liable for lesson time lost due to technical issues on the user’s side.

9. Code of Conduct, Termination & Governing Law

  • Code of Conduct: Buzz Academy maintains a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior, harassment, offensive language, or inappropriate clothing on camera. The school reserves the right to terminate a lesson or the entire agreement immediately, without a refund, if a student breaches this code of conduct.

  • Standard Termination: Under normal circumstances, either party may terminate services at any time by providing at least two weeks’ written notice. Any prepaid, undelivered lessons remaining after the notice period will be fully refunded (excluding any lessons already lost due to late cancellations).

  • Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Croatia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights guaranteed to you under European Union law.
